Living Room - Before

So, back through the kitchen and you come to the living room. It is a very good size and very open to the kitchen. Even with the open space and vaulted ceilings, this room always feels very dark. I'm hoping with new french doors to the back patio, a light paint color, and tons of accent lighting we will be able to make it feel bright.

There is a built in bar at the end of the breakfast bar right now. We want to take that out and extend the breakfast bar all the way down to the wall. (Don't worry...there will still be a "bar". I have a huge cabinet and hutch that will hold all of the bar necessities!)

Just past the breakfast bar. You can see the sliding glass doors that will become french doors & windows.

From the kitchen looking out into the living room. See how dark? We are keeping the fireplace and adding built-ins to the left of it for the media components.

The other long wall of the living room. Adios paneling!!!

  1. so many of the things that are in that house remind me of items that we found in my grandparent's house - the soup poster, the old time highchair. thank you for providing me a walk down memory lane.
